Who doesn’t love Four Seasons hotels and resorts? They are known for their luxury and all-inclusive experiences, and the Bali resort at Sayan follows suit. This place is ridiculously beautiful! It is located in the village of Sayan which is about 5 kilometers west of the larger town of Ubud on the island of Bali in Indonesia.
I have had the privileged of staying here and also conducting two weddings at the resort. From private chefs to private butlers and the most breathtaking villas, this is definitely one of those “Ohhh Wow!” places for me.
Grounds, Amenities and Rooms
The resort sits among the most serene landscape and has a very zen-like ambiance and atmosphere. A suspension bridge allows you to walk among the treetops, the sounds of the river are serene and even the architecture and design elicit an incredibly tranquil feeling.
The entire resort is surrounded by lush, tropical gardens and you can enjoy indoor and outdoor living via the rooms and villas.
Many rooms come with private meditation areas and outdoor living rooms that overlook the river and tropical gardens. Many also come with private plunge pools and you can choose between rooms with either two queen beds or one king-size bed with a trundle bed.
Each space is designed with teak furnishings and has a very modern, Balinese aesthetic. They’re filled with hand-loom fabrics and a lot of natural textures. You truly feel like you’re staying in a spa.
When I think of the perfect place to experience physical and inner healing or a place to begin to destress, process, and focus on your mental health, I think of the Four Seasons Bali at Sayan.
Your Stay, Experiences, and Dining Options
This resort is championed as “your riverside sanctuary in Bali’s cultural heart” according to their website, and I just can’t think of a truer statement. Everything about this resort drums up the experience of a sanctuary.
There are a number of activities in the area. You’re very close to the ocean where you can enjoy everything from swimming to snorkeling to scuba diving and more.
You can easily book a guide and tour the emerald green rice fields. The resort offers exclusive helicopter tours, surfing trips, and you can even take part in a number of classes such as a cooking class where you’ll learn to cook a popular Balinese dish. ruly, there are a number of rich learning and adventure experiences at this Bali resort.
If you need a day of relaxing, you can book an entire day at the resort spa and experience their ancient ritual healings.
They have multiple dining options. You can enjoy al fresco dining outdoors on the Ayung terrace which has stunning views overlooking the forest. They serve incredible traditional indonesian dishes that are made with fresh ingreidents and aromatic spices that are simply divine.
The poolside restaurant offers a European bistro and grill menu and the Jati Bar is the perfect place to unwind with a cup of tea, light snacks or your favorite drink. You can also take part in a seven-course meal and talk to the chef at The Chef’s Table at Sokasi. The Bali Four Seasons at Sayan also offers in-villa dining that includes local and international favorites.
This incredible hotel and resort has so much to savor and soak up.
I envision a holiday or trip to this resort being one that is focused on destressing, quiet and leisurely adventure, and a lot of reflection. It would be the perfect place to book if you know your mental health needs some focus, or if you’re wanting to write a book or plan your business year out.
Many couples marry here because it’s tucked away in such a serene and intimate space, allowing you to withdraw from the world and truly connect with one another.
It’s so beautiful, peaceful and I can’t recommend it enough for a truly destressing and cultural experience.
